It has been confirmed that Bethesda will package the Elder Scrolls Skyrim Collector’s Edition for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC gaming platforms. The collector’s edition will include the following:
-Alduin Statue: Created in conjunction with the IP Factory, this collector’s only statue stands 12” tall and is made of high quality PVC. Modeled from actual in-game 3D digital files, it showcases Alduin, the World Eater. He stands perched atop one the game’s many dragon walls that teach the player the lethal language of dragons.
-The Art of Skyrim’ Official Art Book: Featuring over 200 pages of striking, full-color illustrations, sketches and models, this stunning 9 3/8” x 12 1/8” coffee table book showcases the characters, creatures, environments, and weaponry of Skyrim. With a foreword by game director Todd Howard and commentary from Bethesda Game Studios artists, readers will be guided through the game’s iconic visual style.
-The Making of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim’ DVD This documentary DVD contains exclusive, behind-the-scenes footage, including interviews with the Bethesda Game Studios team as they take you from concept to creation and provide insights into the story, gameplay, setting, legacy of the Elder Scrolls franchise, and much more.
The price of the complete package has been reported to be $149.99 (US), €149.99 (Europe), £129.99 (UK), and A$199.99 (Australia). You can now reserve at major retail gaming outlets.

That’s super lame and definitely not worth $150. The absolute most I would pay for this package is $90, and I would still be disappointed. I would much rather have in-game content, even if it was that lame horse armor. I guess I will be getting the standard edition, even though I’m a huge fan. I can’t imagine anyone else will be buying this either, so I hope Bethesda learns from their mistakes. I’m just saying, that’s a little arrogant to think that anyone’s going to pay more than twice the amount for the game just to see how it’s made. I hope you guys know how lame and disappointing this is for all the fans.
It may not be worth it to you, but for someone training to become a game developer the Making-of DVD alone would be worth it.

That’s a lot of money for not a lot extra. I mean sure, the model’s nice quality and all, but it’d be nice to see a different collector’s edition that was maybe only twice the price of the base game and had extra in-game content instead of a plastic figure that’s just going to sit on a shelf and collect dust.
Map looks nice, artbook looks good, and the making-of is kinda neat but those are all pretty standard items for a £60 special/collector edition of a game, so really it’s another £70 for a plastic model, of the kind of quality that would be available for half that if it wasn’t being labelled as a collector’s item.
It seems to be a developing trend in special editions – including physical items of limited/no actual use and then charging twice the price of a normal SE/CE (Deus Ex – Human Revolution, Duke Nukem Forever, and Shogun 2: Total War (chessboard; wtf??), I’m looking at you! (Though DX-HR did at least also have some snazzy in-game content)).
I’m also loving the vehemence of some of the replies above. It’s only a game, folks, no need to get all angry about it just because you don’t like someone else’s opinions and/or spelling
I would love to have this but the price is too high. I hope there’s other version without the dragon(i don’t really care for it). My only interest is on the making of DVDs and the illustration book. Also agree that they should put some dlc in this edition, just to make it a little more worth the money.
