In a interview that I read a long time ago todd howard was asked if there will be pets in Skyrim, and he responded with “Well, Dogmeat was quite popular in Fallout 3″ so that basically means that they intend it to be in the game. But who knows what might mess that up. Sorry I don’t have any links, it was a long time ago.
I can see it now walking slowly up a snowy ridge real late at night with my loyal hound.. We tryed to make it back home before sunset but the mountains play tricks, Hes tired & hungry from our previous adventure. I then find a patch of berries peekin between some rocks.. i stop to pick some for us & sip on my mead to warm up.. Then a Loud Gargling Yelp” Quickly i turn around dropping my berries & mead for my blade.. and find nothing but blood & snow.. Then the sky erupts in bright flames.. ps how funny will it be to see a khajiit with a pet parrot that speaks better english than he does.. also maybe dragons breath fire in skyrim to warm eachother up.. Thats how the battle started, Maybe we just took it the wrong way!

Lol i totally agree. Great short story. Would be awesome if you can have a pack of wolves or a tiger companion. Or even a bird that gives a critical hit perk for a bow user.
